Albania put crack in this. Firing in all cylinders even with the video. I need the online hype to be materialized not just for being a ethnic masterclass but for two primary reasons: a) the need to take down preconceived notions that the winner has to be "universal/radio friendly"; b) can't even remember the last time a smaller country has won.

And the fact it was first entry out of 37 announced and keeps getting stronger...iconic. xpray

This will score pretty low outside the eurovision bubble. Way to overhyped on here.
Still sums up all I need to say here. I still don't get why this is still insanely hyped in the fandom. Its nice, but it screams mid-table finish to me. Maybe it's saving grace is the fact that it isn't too in your face but is just quirky enough to remain intriguing...

Guess we'll all find out in May!

You mean the song where the lyrics were 60% lalalalalalalalalalalala? o_O
Armenia's song was up-tempo, powerful and had a folklore-feeling to it. Thats why it scored pretty well. Zjerm has none of it + the fact that it will not be performed with a live Orchestra will take much of the song away.

This will finish mid to low-table, if it qualifies at all.

I don't know, I like the song just as much in studio form. I think the chorus is catchy, I like the main riff from the guitar-like traditional instrument and I think the slightly experimental touches (the additional voices during the first verse, Kolë's spoken word verse) are nice as well. Live I think its further elevated by Beatriçe's charisma and choreography. Plenty of Italian and Albanian songs have turned out just fine without the orchestra before.

I agree with you partly, I also think that it's most likely to place midtable, maybe 13th-12th if they're lucky. But the Kelmendis managed to sneak into the top 10 of the televote and since I'd argue this is a much more catchy song I think that they will avoid the right side of the scoreboard. And I think this has far less red flags than other ethnic fan favourites that flopped recently (Ulveham, Fulenn).

I like it but I'm a bit bemused by it being talked about as a potential 'winner'. It doesn't feel like one to me. Having said that, the standard feels generally weak this year so maybe there's more potential than usual for a surprise winner.

Sadly this iconic entry cant win coz, even tho it will ( and should ) be in the televote top 5 ( 🔥 ), juries will inevitably tank this ( apart from originality it doesnt tick any jury criteria so they will just overlook it + Kole's part will throw many jurors off ).
Marina Satti only managed to get 41 jury points last year, I think this is gonna get a similar jury result that automatically will get it out of the running for the trophy.
But will be great to see Albania in the top 10, theyve got that in the bag I think.

The top 3 of our eurofans: :se::at::al:. Albania has the lowest anti-rating.
What's amusing is that even one slut-bop oriented group put Albania 1st and Malta 2nd
