They haven't qualified with a translated song in 14 years lol their diaspora means qualification is almost certain now they make the grand final regardless of song quality

True but they did qualify in 2015 and would've qualified with Fall from the Sky in 2020 in my opinion. Still not a fan of her translating it fully to English if that is the case.

I mean why not, what is the worst that can happen? Another NQ? Her recording in English does not take away the fact that the Albanian version exists. If you don't like the English version, then just listen to the original one, simple as that.

I have a feeling that she may do a combo version in the end, if enough vocal fans decide to "bully" her into it.

It's not "as simple as that" because the original/Albanian version isn't part of the Eurovision history anymore. It's not the version which will appear on the official playlist/CD. It's not the version which won the right to represent the country. It's not the version which will compete in May.

That said, I'll wait for the official Eurovision version to fully judge the song (it could surprise us all and be better than the original) but this is not the song/version people had been voting for and I hate it that singers opt for changing the song or switching the language AFTER winning the right to fly the country's flag in May.

When it comes to Albania, most English versions flopped and made the song worse, e.g. 2016, 2017 and 2022.
2015 and 2020 (since they were mentioned in this thread) were completely different cases. "I'm Alive" was a completely new song and Arilena's song was originally written/recorded in English anyway.

This would only matter for the hardcore ESC bubble that have a language-"fetish" and the fans of the original version. ESC fans who don't care about this song and have no strong liking to have a song in local language will easily have no issue with the revamp in English. As you said, who knows the revamp may turn out to be better.

Plus, the wider general audience (ie. casual viewers) would have never known there is an original version and the final English version would be the one that they will be exposed to. So in a wider context, it won't matter much eventually.

I've grown to love this entry so much over the past three months, even coming back to change my initial 8 to 12 points. It's one of only two entries I feel like returning to. Zemrën n'dorë is something I could totally imagine Artemisa Mithi singing. It's epic but also has such a warm, comforting feel that I just can't get enough of. The second verse as well is just tremendously dynamic, and then how it explodes into the final chorus... urhhh, I just love how infectious it is.

I have to say though that I'm so anxious right now about the upcoming English version. The Albanian language to me is honestly like a drug. It's such a beautiful, mysterious sounding language that I just cannot ever get enough of. Albania's revamps have always been hit or miss, and when they miss it's catastrophic. I'm worried

Albania always manages to elevate massively with the Albanian revamps. Their English revamps have never worked for me so it's disappointing that they go this direction.
Yes the song is hopeless at the moment, but entries like 2019, 2021, 2023 also sounded hopeless until they revamped (while staying in Albanian).

Will this continue the trend of Albania making songs worse with English? Almost definitely but I'm so indifferent about the original song to begin with so I'm fine with it
It depends. If "Zemren n'dore" were written as an English song before it was translated to Albanian, it might sound better, perhaps?

Tumblr, mostly.
if it had been written to be performed in English it would have sounded worse in Albanian, and may not have won FiK.

Such is the risk of Native Language Only formats (see also (and no, i'm NOT letting it go): Iceland).

Albania was 11th I the televore in 2021 so their diapora doesn't guarantee qualification
