I think Albania is my new "I don't understand the choices they make and we're clearly not on the same wavelength at all" country at Eurovision.

For a time I felt like Estonia filled that kind of role but really I think Albania is a better fit.
Albanian FiK winners never made sense for me, so I stopped watching it. But i think it's a fun contest to watch with other esc fans together

As for their Eurovision entry, i didn't dislike it

Omg albania is sending a woman that screams into a microphone? That's totally new and never been done before, what a breath of fresh air.

Let's wait if the revamp changes anything but I doubt it. :3:

I'm quite ok with the song of Besa, she can get the final like Albania does usually with the televote.

The winner of the fik, meh, or juries are dumb, or they are corrupted.

Actually it's quite nice. Even the studio version is the most Eurovision-ready track FiK has produced in a long time. I'm sure there will be a revamp to improve, but I don't think it needs drastic changes. :5: because it's still quite a middle of the road entry

The pros: Nice voice, solid music, overall not unpleasant song.

The cons: Usual woman to win the Albanian competition, excess of girl-power (always these women posing or dressed as warriors - victims of the brain washing of the TV series "Xena - the warrior princess") and inevitable rapping part.

Final results:

Good performance but 0 emotion. Vote :6:

Literally the only thing I could remember from Zemrën n'dorë was Besa's outfit and more specifically her boobs, so I'm just going to guess that's what the televoters remembered too. It's fine I guess? I don't hate it as a song or anything but I have the same kind of "meh" reaction that I do to most Albanian entries. I'm sure it'll get a nice black-and-red SJB staging and qualify in Malmo.

My favourite was definitely Michela Paluca's Për veten, who admittedly was another Albanian screaming woman but one I found very engaging.

I'm quite ok with the song of Besa, she can get the final like Albania does usually with the televote.

Recent qualifiers for Albania have been 9th or 10th in the semis though. So I wouldn't consider it a certainty...

It will probably depend a lot on what their competition is like. Albania can probably at least rely on Ireland to fumble the ball I guess.

It's quite dated and easily the worst entry so far... But we've had worse entries in the past. I kind of even prefer this to Duje.

Albania can rely on their diaspora to sneak in as 10th place if they're lucky. But to be honest, apart from Croatia/Slovenia/Switzerland/Austria/Italy/Greece (their diaspora), I don't see any country voting for this, especially since other artists seem very promising.

Hopefully, they will nq though. All other countries are stepping it up and Albania is stuck in their method, which ends in nothing more than a qualification in the 10th or 9th spot and finishes around 20th in the final - more or less because diaspora helps them... They are in desperate need of a change.

It's really getting boring. Especially when they have interesting entries in FiK, which never end up getting chosen anyway.

I'm giving it a 5/12.

The same old, same old. I doubt a revamp will turn this into aything remotely interesting, unless they decided to do a dance pop mix to change things up. Giving this a :5: coz it's not dire or unlistenable and she got a good voice (her stage presence is kinda static but I blame it on the song and her outfit).

Weirdly, this is the first time I haven't been immediately turned off after hearing the Albanian entry. Never check out the other songs, so no idea what other options there were, but this one has some catchy elements at least.

But it's still Albania, and invariably will fight to get out of my bottom 10 when all songs are known as usual. :5: for now

I´m sorry but what is this strange mess that´s supposed to be :al: entry for Malmö?? xthink

I starts as a predictable midtempo ballad with a chorus where Besa of course hast to show some long notes, Then there´s a rap part completely out of nowhere and afterwards we drift into some sort of RnB only to go back to a balladlike chorus. xstars

For me all these pieces simply don´t match together, it feels like the songwriters and producers didn´t know what kind of song they wanted to make and therefore threw all ideas into a pot, creating this strange tasting mishmash. o_O

Final?? If they´re lucky and all usual allies like :gr:, :it: and :ch: are voting in the same semifinal then I can see this sneek through to the grand final and then ending 15th and lower because since I can´t see viewers outside of the diaspora voting for this. But I wouldn´t be suprised at all if it fails to qualify.

Since her voice is kinda ok and not as screamish as a few entries in the past I give :4:, not unlistenable but simply too strange and boring for me to give it a higher ranking. xshrug

It's the same type of song that Albania are used to send to Eurovision, I think it has a lot of potential for a great revamp. Let's wait and see if they manage to do anything great.

I just wished to see other Albania in Eurovision.

:5: points for now

when I think of Besa, I think of this hit that won Kenga Majike in 2013:

I was obsessed with this back then. xangel
The live from Kenga Majike is much stronger than the studio.

Well, this isn't bad at all and actually I quite like it, although I did prefer another from FiK. I think it has a bit more to it than some of the other shouty female ballads Albania have sent. Revamp I think could be important here, as previous Albanian entries I've gone on to really love have left me kinda cold at FiK. I'm going to give a :7: because I like it more than France but not anymore than Czechia. It's hard to accurate grade at this early stage.
