Us Fik lovers need worry no longer.They have pulled off what none thought possible.They have kept true to the roots yet lifted the quality much higher.This is a fantastic year.
Klodiana has delivered.The song is simply waiting for an orchestra explosion.It seems a bit dated,but then delivers a crazy key change.Klodiana screaming over the backing singers in the refrain is fantastic.
Jonida Maliqi has really brought it as well.A haunting twisting darkness.The instrumentation and structure of the song is perfect.It has massive staging potential.To make it work to its full affect she is going to have to power through it and force everyone to submit.I never thought shed come back,but she has with a bomb.
Artemisa is a very talented young person,and her song is a gem.Its so different to what would be expected at Fik yet really works.Might work really well on the big stage.
Aurel isnt getting the hype,but come Fik he will be right in the mix.The song structure is wonderful.Its the best song for the orchestra.It has an air of top drawer quality about it.If he can nail the vocals maybe game over.The violin bridge/solo is gorgeous as it merges in with the backing singers and then Aurel.Heck it might even top 4 an esc jury.
This is easily the best selection so far and we are in for a wonderful night.

I love-like many really, great year for FiK, I was never a huge fa of that festival, but this year is really good!
I think Leyla performed by Marko Strazimiri & Imbro is my fave..it is so different and interesting..

My faves after listening through everything:
1. Klodiana Vata - Mbrëmje e pafund
Insta bop with huge revamp potential, although I love it as it is now. Take me back to the Kejsi Tola and Juliana Pasha days please Albania
2. Lorela Sejdini - Vetmi
Didn't quite slay me as much as I hoped it would. It takes so long to get going but this could slip back to being my favourite if she pulls that finale off live. The electronic section is immense and my favourite moment from any song in this Fik. I'd love to see Rezarta Smaja back one day with a song like this.
3. Artemisa Mithi & Febi Shkurti - Dua ta besoj
Lovely song although I prefer her previous entry. This isn't extraordinary but there's something quite sincere about it that I like. It's comforting to listen to. Sometimes that's all I want. I know this would continue to grow on me and be one of my favourites if it went to Eurovision.
4. Dilan Reka - Karma
This is so Albania getting their groove on that I cannot even. I'm going to be living watching the orchestra doing their thing with this.
5. Aurel Thëllimi - Të dua ty
If Albania are their typical selves then this will hands down win. It's got everything, and everything it's got is presented so immaculately. That hook is the devil in disguise. It's not going to leave my head. The final minute needs more power though which maybe the live version will provide us with. I guess not everything needs a pompous key changed slapped onto it....... boy I wouldn't have minded here though.
6. Kujtim Prodani - Babela
Absolutely without a chance at Eurovision, I know. I really like this though. Such drama and power. It's even got a spoken word bridge section. Hot damn, i'm sold. Don't Speak except performed by an old, no doubt (<- accidental pun) legendary Albanian man.
The only song I strongly dislike from this entire selection is Soni's Më e fortë. I'm all for pop diva's but I just find this type of song too steely and aggressive. I get no enjoyment from this kind of thing. Judging by how much the Eurovision gods hate me recently, she'll probably win. A lot of the male ballads this year are kind of just there for me as well. Mirud's song doesn't do much for me. It's not the best Fik ever, but at least there are a few things I can cheer for.
I see people are hyping Jonida Maliqi's song. My feelings are mixed. I don't think I get enough pleasurable moments from it. The sparse, metallic instrumentation of the verses is a pop trend I hate. I like music that has a rich texture and certainly it eventually provides that but I don't know if I care enough. I like the bit from 1:32 of the video, but then after about 30 seconds it's back to moody mode. The payoff for sitting through those moments isn't good enough for me. Maybe the live performance with the orchestra will sell me on it. Her voice is super strong. It's hard for me at the moment though when i'm flat out not enjoying large chunks of the composition.

Now after a few listenings, I can say that my absolute fave is Jonida! Special Rhythm and vibes, wonderfully dark and mysterious. There are really great Songs alltogether, I am completely enthralled by the diversity of the songs! And what amazing ballads ... my top 5 are:
Jonida Maliqi, Aurel, Mirud, Kelly and Orgesa Zaimi.Will become an interesting selection!

Jonida Maliqi can actually fight for not just Fik victory but eurovision victory too... But , its Fik... they will flop with their choose.

Overall, this is a pretty interesting selection. There are atleast 8 songs that I honestly enjoy listening. I like how much contrast does Albania create with this selection when compared to Eesti Laul. Both selections are pretty nice, each one in its own way.

HOOK. I can't get this part out of my head. I think Dua ta besoj is taking over from Mbrëmje E Pafund as my fave. There's something about it that's kind of poignant. Makes me feel a bit emotional actually.

This one is cute. I can see why you like it. Made me think of Annalisa somehow. I don't know why.
Have you heard Vetmi? It's another one of my favourites. It's basically an acoustic number for a couple of minutes before jump scaring it's way into a super fast electro pop rave finale. I can't wait to see the orchestra working it during that final minute.

It's nice, but tbh unsure about those rave beats. Not liking the production there at the end. Maybe live works better for me.
