2013 was a fantastic. There are more songs I like with all my heart than this year, although overall 2014 might the edge in the one-to-one comparison.

I will never forget the magnificent song of Iceland last year. That was the best thing I have EVER seen in Eurovision. Even better than Hohrenonie in 2010.
I also enjoyed Belgium, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Ukraine and Moldova massively..... I was stunned by the Netherlands and absolutely in love with Bonnie Tyler...

This year, I don't feel this strong love and support for any song but for only for Hungary. And I will be dissappointed if Hungary wouldn't win. Most of the songs are bland and boring this year, too cliché and kitsch.

This confirms my impression that 2013 was a better year. Forthermore, when 2014 wins over the 2013 counterpart, it's just by a small margin (:al: 2014 is only slightly better than :al: 2013, which was very good too), but when 2013 wins it's usually by a huge margin (:ua: 2013 and :ua: 2014 are worlds apart; :nl: 2013 and :nl: 2014 are galaxies apart; :no: 2013 and :no: 2014 are universes apart).
Even the overhyped :hu: 2014 for me is inferior to the soothing melody of :hu: 2013.

I won't compare every song but having in mind all songs of 2013 and 2014 including the ones that didn't make it to the final, I think 2013 was much better. This year is a very weak Eurovision in my opinion. The best (songwise) were in 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2011.
