Unfortunately :mx: finished only 21st in 1st SF of WV11. xcry1 It is a kinda disappointment but we will back stronger in next edition! Also, there is chance for Camila to go again and get result they deserve! xcheer But I do not regret sending this song as I really love it and it is one of my favorite songs all the times. xheart

Mexican broadcaster for WV, La Hele, has announced news on Mexico's plan for 12th edition of WorldVision that will be held in Helsinki, thanks to win of Johanna Kurkela with song Sinä Nukut Siinä. Since La Hele took over management of Mexico in WV, once NF was held and once it was an internal selection. This time it is again going to be internal selection for both, song and artist. And night before its performance in 2nd semifinal of WV 12, La Hele has decided to share informations about chosen artist that is going to represent Mexico in UUsimaa. It is going to be...Yuridia!

Yuridia is a popular Mexican singer who gained international fame by coming 2nd place in the hit reality show La Academia. In 2005, Yuridia released her debut album La Voz de un Ángel. It became the second best-selling album in 2006 and one of the fastest-selling albums of all time in Mexico. It has been certified Diamond since its release. For now, Yurida has had 4 albums. All of them were very well accepted by public and got many awards. Her last album, Para Mi for now has been certificated as triple platinum and is still one of most popular albums in Mexico, although it was released in the end 2011.

Interesting fact of Yuridia is that her boyfriend, Mario Domm, represented Mexico at WV 11 on Iceland, as member of band Camila! But unfortunately, their song didn't qualify for the final!

About song and tomorrow's performance, in announcement there is not many details, but it says that song is very strong and powerful and that performance will be very simple and with attention on the song.

And is what Yuridia said about her representing Mexico at WV:
"At first, of course I'm very happy that I can represent colours of my country at such big competition as it is WorldVision. It is great place where you can meet many artists from all around the world and find out about their countries and regions. Last edition I went as support to Mario and simply, it was already great to be part of WV, even as just supporter. But I got willies to represent my country and during rehearsals and all the meetings I have met with Helena, head of delegation. We were talking a lot and suddenly she asked me if I would like to represent Mexico and of course I accepted! Mario with Camila wasn't successful although they had great song but I'm not affraid. I believe in my abilities and will do my best to represent my country on best way and to make success for it!
I really have seen many different styles and artists, performances too! But what I can say is that I see perfection in simplicity. I will not go with unnecessary effects and circus on the stage. It will be minimum of performance with all attention to the song in which I really believe and hope that will be well accepted by public, despite the final result! Simply, I just want to transfer all the emotion to the audience during performance. But as said, I believe in my song and my abilities and I just hope it will be well accepted. Of course, out of most, will enjoying in meeting new artists and finding out about regions that compete in WV. I really like Helsinki and Uusimaa, it is really great organisation here. Mario is still with me as we directly came here from Iceland. Now he is support to me!" :mrgreen:

She is one of the best from that talent show of La Academia, and that cover
from the original Rocio Durcal´s song is very nice. Great you could send it here!!,
thats why it couldnt be sent to FSC.
Im sure you will pass to the finals with this song. Although im dying to see competing
some of the songs i suggested before :D

I have updated Mexico's WV history. I see some players think Yuridia is even candidate for win but I wouldn't go so far. Mexico still hasn't been in top 10 ever, so I would be happy if Yuridia will be in top 10! :)

INFO: After Yuridia's success in Uusimaa, WV has gotten big popularisation in Mexico, basically through one night! Many artists applied their willies to represent country in Italy so in the end Dulce Maria will not be represent of Mexico in next edition as it was primarily planned! But she hasn't gave up so easily and will be part of National Final with 5 more artists! From WV famous names we have noticed again application of Camila, that gives another try in WV! NF is going to be opened soon!
