I was almost gonna refrain from commenting on this at all, for ethical reasons. But i might as well say it - it's a good thing that it's not a good song, because then if they try the same thing they did last year, nobody can seriously claim the results were because of the song. I don't see any enthusiasm from Muslim-haters and psychopathic genocide supporters for this like last year, and i think that's a good sign. They realized it didn't work (to improve Israel's image in any way) and hopefully they'll stay out of the contest entirely this year. It might still make the final, might get a left side result, but it will be forgotten by everyone else. That's all i have to say.

Her voice is natural - not constructed and forced, as so many vocals are nowadays, also at Eurovision. This is the strength of the song, but melodically it's not the most impressive ballad I've ever heard. The part in French - I wondered if she or the song has any specific connection to France, but it doesn't seem like it, so that annoys me a bit (three languages in one song is too much if it isn't motivated by something particular). I'll give Israel a 5 for now. Hurricane was a slightly better song, I think.

She has serious pipes/good vocals, the song is more pleasing to my ears than Hurricane (where the botched censored lyrics bothered me a ton) and it seriously sticks out in a year with extremely few ballads or slower songs. I give this an 8 for now and hope for a glow-up on the Eurovision stage.

I preferred hurricane for instrumentals vocals and melody, I have trouble connecting to yuval on an emotional level here and in the performances I've seen her do. She left me cold until perhaps the last minute of her dancing queen cover where i finally connected (ordinarily i wouldnt give a performance that long). I do like the Hebrew and whilst I preferred eden's voice her vocals are lovely and I hope israel have got a strong support group for her in basel.

I have to add that I'm rarely keen on songs with whole parts that remind me songs of another artist (I don't include covers, duh) so no wonder why I'm against this entry. That having said there were Eurovision songs that I considered plagiarisms of other ones* and this one doesn't belong to them yet.


*among those were Eurovision songs ripping off other Eurovision songs to my ear like San Marino 2018 (the chorus, parts of the instrumental) - Sweden 2015
