Re: Live from Vienna - EUROVISION 2015 TONIGHT

The big difference is that Italy was the clear winner this year, it got the most points in the televote since 2009 (Norway).

That just makes me even more angry about this...but so happy and thrilled for Il Volo

a complete confusion of emotions right now

PED is already kicking in, especially considering the only thing I have to look forward to in the next few weeks is exams and tests :(

was anyone else a little underwhelmed by the show? the arena looked lovely but the atmosphere was all wrong imo. at some points you couldn't even tell if the cheers were real or fake, and that made me a little uneasy. :?

For me it was worse  At least Stig's part. It totally kills the performance for me.

Estonia was my favourite, but i had a soft spot for Israel and gave them all my votes in their semi. But juri is there for a reason. Or they should be. So this is beyond me...

Re: Live from Vienna - EUROVISION 2015 TONIGHT

Wow that massive victory for Il Volo

Now I have been reading and writing here for weeks. People have tried to explain to me why the Italian entry is considered "good", but:
I'm still nowhere near understanding this, not even close.
How can something so "old", so "backward" and old-fashioned become so successful? Privately, I like classical music a lot, and I have a large CD collection, including many opera recordings. But I do not want to hear something like that at the ESC.
Is it really that simple: Put three guys in suits who are considered "handsome" by a large number of females and then let them sing some old-style love song without any real content???

Congratulations to Sweden but in my opinion the song was nothing special. Especially not for winning. Russian singer was straight terrible to watch. Was she on meds or something? Italy was way better than those two. Our Slovenian song deserves to be way higher than 14. spot. I tell you if Meghan Trainor would sing our song it would be world wide hit.

Re: Live from Vienna - EUROVISION 2015 TONIGHT

A few impressions:

1) I am satisfied with Sweden winning, as the song was in my top5 this year and the performance was visually great.

2) So sad that Germany was left with 0 points, as I think it was one of the better and more memorable performances of the night.

3) The way that the audience in the arena acted during the voting was completely embarrassing. If they consider themselves to be fans of Eurovision I hope they are ashamed.

Re: Live from Vienna - EUROVISION 2015 TONIGHT

Well this is interesting!

I am still against the juries, but it's hard to not be biased when your own country has just won. Never would've I thought juries killed Italy? Italy is like the jury country! In all honesty this win doesn't feel any worse because of this, I am just as proud because I truly think Sweden deserved to win. I will always remember last night, I was so filled with happiness and joy and I still am.

And no, this is not a scandal. This is how it works, the juries are entitled to 50% of all the votes, results like these are fully acceptable. The juries weren't brought in to support the televoting result. One could argue that it's not fair that 200 '' professional '' jurymembers decided the winner over millions of people voting, but in 2011 Sweden was snatched of the victory aswell by the juries and won the televote xshrug
