San Marino RTV (SMRTV) released some details about the 2024 edition of “Una Voce per San Marino”, which is the third time the micronation has used this national selection process. The winner of the contest will be the Sammarinese entrant for the 2024 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, held in Malmö, Sweden.

The format for UVPSM has been revamped, this time going back to the inaugural format in 2022, where “emerging artists” qualified to compete in the UVPSM final against pre-selected “big artists”. Contrary to last year, these “big artists” won’t need to compete in the qualifying rounds, and 8 will be in the final. At the end of the qualifying rounds, 8 “emerging artists” will join the “big artists” in the final, making a final of 16 acts. A jury will judge the performances on the final night and select the top act to represent San Marino next year.

The final for UVPSM will be on 02 March, 2024 at the Teatro Nuovo in Dogana, San Marino. If previous editions have taught us anything, then the week before the final will be jampacked with artists competing in qualifying heats to perform in the final. Last year featured 106 artists over 5 nights before Piqued Jacks were chosen in the final. Interested acts can access the casting website through this portal: https://www.unavocepersanmarino.com/

The most recent Sammarinese entry to the Eurovision Song Contest was “Like an Animal” by the band Piqued Jacks. San Marino competed in the second semi-final, but failed to qualify, having finished in last place with 0 points. San Marino last qualified to the grand final in 2021 after a two-year qualification streak.
