IBA, the Israeli broadcasting Association has announced that this year’s entry will not be selected using the familiar Kdam format. A special committee will internally select an artist who will present 3 songs during a special televised song selection, a private Kdam.
The committee will consist of music professionals, IBA representatives and it will be supervised by a court judge to ensure a fair and proper selection process. Once an artist is selected, the Israeli public will be able to submit their songs and the 3 selected songs will be presented for televoting by the Israeli audience.
It is yet uncertain when the committee convenes to decide, but certain artists have been rumored to be leading the race already; The duo TYP, Roni Dalumi, Maya Buskila who according to speculation was a runner-up to represent Israel in 2012, Miri Masika, Vladi Bleiberg (Kdam 2013), Chen Aharoni (Kdam 2012), Marina Maximilian and possibly Assaf Avidan or Ninet Tayeb.
Will it be Maya Buskila’s turn?

In 2013 IBA held the Kdam and organized a national selection in order to select its Eurovision entry. Moran Mazor won the Israeli national final and represented Israel in Malmo with the ballad Rak Bishvilo. The song did not qualify for the final. Following Moran’s performance, it was rumored that the IBA was not pleased with having selected a ballad and it is quite likely that this year they will focus on searching for an upbeat song.
Will Vladi be joining us in Malmo?
