As we look ahead to the first heat of Pabandom iš naujo, we were fortunate enough to interview to interview Viktorija Faith ahead of her performance. Together we talked about her journey into music, her experience on stage for the recording, and her song. Check it out!
Hello Viktorija! Thank you for speaking with us today! For those who are encountering you and your music for the first time, why don‘t you tell us a bit about yourself?
Hello thanks so much for reaching out, it’s a real pleasure to get to answer your interview questions.
I’m a singer/ songwriter, actress, a business woman and a representative of a new generation of women leaders. I’m also CEO of Global Film & Music Empire. Last year I wrote, produced, starred and directed my first feature film to which I also wrote the music.
I’ve lived in London for 14 years. 7 years ago, I’ve started my professional singing/songwriting career path which lead me to lots of creative adventures. I produce demos with Logic. I am someone who loves to try different things and I feel very blessed to get to do what I love the most Music and Film.
Your IMDB page tells me that your career in theater and television first started when you were only 7 years old. At what point did you realize that you had a talent for both acting and music?
I believe that talent is no more than just the ability to learn, and I believe anyone can learn anything, when you put your head to it. I fell in love with acting when I shot and directed my first music
video. Since then I can’t imagine music without visuals and vice versa.
And this is your first time participating in the Lithuanian preselection, what made you decide to compete in the national final this year?
The second I wrote this song I felt that it’s something special and felt the urge to share it with the world.
Somehow Pabandom is Naujo (Eurovision 2022) came to mind and without thinking too much, I filled in the application. To be honest it was a lovely surprise to be selected. To be able to share the stage with the best singers of Lithuania means a lot. I was watching Eurovision since I was a child, it is hard to believe that I am one of the selected ones , both as an author and performer.
When you got the news that your song had been selected for the Pabandom iš Naujo semi-finals, what was your first reaction?
I was very happy. Over the Moon. It means a lot to be selected and the fact that my original song selected makes me even happier.
I do know that on top of your background performing on the theater stage, you’ve participated on the Lithuanian X-Factor, and have performed on some of the biggest stages in the UK. Do you think this prior experience will help you as you prepare for the pre-selection at all?
Definitely, this year I felt really ready. As you know we already performed and I was horrified to find out that everyone has to use in- ear. I’ve never used in-ears!! It was real challenging, but hey real learning curve. So very excited to see my performance on the 8th of January.
Your song for Pabandom iš naujo is titled “Walk Through the Water”, could you explain the message behind your song and how the song was written?
This song means something special to me. It’s something I repeat to myself during hard times. I hope other people will feel my support through this song. Walking through the Water- means achieving something impossible. Believe in some power or forces that will help to overcome fear, to keep the faith and trusting the unseen.
Of course, you know that the winner of Pabandom iš naujo will go on to Eurovision in Turin this May. What would it mean to be able to represent your country on that large of a stage?
If my song will be selected to represent Lithuania in Turin that will be amazing opportunity to communicate my message to the world. The thought of it makes me feel amazing, that would be a dream come true.
For those who want to connect with you ahead of or after the selection– where can they find you and your music?
My music is all platforms Spotify, iTunes , I also have my YouTube channel and instagram where I try to keep everyone updated about future performances.
Last question – is there any message you’d want to share with the ESCUnited readers?
Love yourself, believe in yourself, enjoy life and spread love.
