Viktoria Petryk ukraine

A well known Ukrainian singer has launched her bid to become the Ukrainian representative at Eurovision 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden.

Viktoria Petryk has released a song called Overload which has been composed by Swedish duo Ylva and Linda Persson. Viktoria will be taking part in the Odessa audition round on Saturday 12th December.

Petryk is no stranger to competing at such a high level. She represented Ukraine at the 2008 Junior Eurovision song contest with her song Matrosy (Sailors) and her sister, Anastasiya Petryk won the 2012 Junior Eurovision for Ukraine with her song Nebo.  Petryk has also taken to the stage, singing with a host of Ukrainian Eurovision stars such as Ani Lorak (Ukraine 2008) and Tina Karol (Ukraine 2006). Petryk is also no stranger to competing at the international New Wave Junior singing contest in Sochi, Russia with her sister Anastasiya. In 2010 Viktoria won the 13-15 age group where as her sister won the 8-12 age group.

Viktoria Petryk was born on the 21st May 1997 in Nerubaiske village in Odessa, Ukraine. This is the second attempt Viktoria Petryk has had at trying to represent Ukraine at the contest. She competed in the Ukrainian national final in 2014 with her song ‘Love is lord’ loosing out to Mariya Yarmechuk and her song ‘Tik Tok’
