Tonight Ukraine was selecting its 19th representation at Eurovision through the music contest called ‘Vidbir 2024’ . There were 11 contenders that performed their songs and its winner was expected to represent Ukraine at Eurovision this year in Malmo, Sweden.
The outcome of the contest was aimed to be decided through jury and public vote. The jury was comprised of Andriy Danylko (Eurovision 2007 as Verka Serduchka), Jamala (winner of Eurovision 2016), and music producer and singer Serhiy Tanchynets.
While jury voted and the results were available for the organizers of the contest, there was an unexpected technical issue with the public vote. During the voting period, Suspilne Broadcaster announced that there were technical issues with the app ‘Diya’ through which Ukrainian audience could vote. Initially they expected the app to stabilize, however at a later stage, there was a decision made to announce the winner on Sunday.
The voting will be going on tomorrow the whole day and the final results are expected to be revealed on Sunday evening.
