Yesterday, in her Spanish home, one of the most loved and appreciated people in show business, Cilla Black, passed away. The well-known singer and presenter show to fame 50 years ago and has had a successful career throughout that time. One of the many jobs Cilla had over the five decades was the host of the UK’s national selections in 1968 and 1973, when Cliff Richard represented the United Kingdom on both occasions.
Cilla was asked to represent the United Kingdom in the 1960’s but turned it down after the UK’s success in the 1967 contest, stating that she didn’t see a British girl triumphing in the contest so soon after a win.
The world of entertainment will miss the Liverpool-born singer, and escunited.com wish to send our respects to Cilla’s family and friends.
R.I.P. Cilla Black, You will be missed!
