Love City Groove

21 years ago Love City Groove took to the Eurovision stage in Dublin, last night one of the members of Love City Groove was on BBC1 again, this time auditioning for The Voice UK.

Paul Phoenix, now 55, stated that his Eurovision experience was a fairytale and it allowed him to gain chart success and admits that everything he was proud of was in 1995 thanks to Eurovision. He entered the Voice to show people what he can do now.

Sadly none of the judges turned around for Paul, although he did get very positive comments on his performance of “Chasing Pavements”

Paul is not the only Eurovision singer to audition for The Voice UK, Jay Aston who was a member of Bucks Fizz also failed to persuade the judges when none of them turned for her in 2013. Dene Michael who represented the UK in the 1979 as part of Black Lace with the song “Mary Ann” ending in 7th position.

Paul represented the United Kingdom in the 1995 Eurovision Song Contest as part of Love City Groove with the song “Love City Groove”, they ended in 10th place
