Monday 4th august
So I’m on the way to London. Twin twin are playing tonight at Hoxton square and garden. It’s a one off London gig, and it surely is something not to be missed.
Twin twin represented France in Copenhagen 2014, but sadly didn’t convert any fans into many votes finishing last place with a measly two points. Whilst I was there in Copenhagen, Lorent, Francois and Patrick were one of the hardest working entries there. Everywhere I turned, Twin Twin we’re busy either filming their Eurovision documentary, “Eurovision inside”, or they were performing for us. I gladly saw them twice in one day, and they were amazing.
Full of energy this group really knew how to work a crowd. First they performed at Eurovision village, and even the rain that day couldn’t dampen the spirits of twin twin or the “twin twinerz”. Later on that evening they performed at Euro Fan Cafe, now everyone was wearing their very own moustache. The atmosphere at the cafe gig was electric. Even before they came on there was chants of “Twin twin… Oh yeah… Twin twin … Oh yeah”. They came on stage and they took the crowd by storm… I went away that evening wanting more… I seemed to know the songs already, or at least the choruses, my French just isn’t what it used to be.
Upon my return home after Eurovision, I immediately downloaded the album “Vive La Vie” which I have got to say really does not disappoint. If you love “Moustache” you really need to get this album. On the flip side, the songs are not as slapstick as “moustache” so it is still work a listen at least. Personal highlights are “La-Haut” and “Je Vais Tres Bien”.
I promised one of my friends I had met out in Copenhagen during the contest, that no matter where they play… We are going…. So here I am, on the way to London for some Twin Twin…. Bring back the Eurovision memories….
…Oh yeah!
