What a week it’s been, very soon we will have our new champion and we’ll soon also know our destination for 2023! We started with 40, and now we’re down to 25 countries left in the competition, one of them will be victorious this upcoming Saturday.
Running Order for the Final
To those unaware, the running order is decided by the show producers. These people decide the running order based on the style of a song, props used for a song and of course, which half a song is placed in. The final consist of the 10 qualifiers from each semi-final, plus the BIG 5 countries (Germany, France, Spain, United Kingdom and Italy), usually also the host country, but since Italy is already a BIG 5 nation, then they take up both the spots, meaning a total of 25 songs will be present in this year’s final.
Only the host country is randomly given a spot in the final, here Italy was given spot number 9 in the final. Meanwhile the other pre-qualified finalists drew their half, after their second rehearsal. The qualified semi-finalists on the other hand, first drew their half during the winner’s press-conference, which took place after both the semi-finals
