Just like last year, 4 different acts will be competing for the ticket to represent the country at the contest in Nice. 51 young hopefuls were invited to do audition for a professional jury. They selected 24 singers to proceed to the JSF Academy, were they worked on their vocals, dancing and performing on stage. In the next stage of the selection process, the broadcaster will announce the finalist of this group and will form 4 different acts (solo singer, duo or a group) that will compete in Rotterdam to represent the country. The Netherlands in Junior Eurovision
The Netherlands is the only country that have participated in every Junior Eurovision Song Contest since it started in 2003. They won the contest back in 2009 when Ralf Mackenbach showcased his tapdancing skill on the stage in Kyiv with his song ”Click Clack”.
Some former JESC entrants even performed at the Eurovision stage when they became older: 2007 participants Lisa, Amy & Shelley performed as O’G3NE in 2017 on the Eurovision stage. In 2021, Stefania participated at the Eurovision Song Contest for Greece with her song “Last Dance,” while back in 2016 she represented The Netherlands as part of the girlgroup Kisses at the Junior Song Contest.
Last year, The Netherlands was represented by Luna and her song “La Festa” and opened the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2022 with this banger. She finished 7th in Yerevan with 128 points.
