We are just under 2 months from the beginning of Melodifestivalen 2023 but, we now have the full lineup of competing artists. In a set of two livestreams, the first being yesterday, SVT has revealed the 28 competing acts of Melfest.
The 3rd heat will take place in Lidköping on the 18th of February and, the 4th heat will be in Malmö on the 25th of February.
Here are the artists revealed today to be competing in Deltavling 3 and 4;
Deltavling 3 in Lidköping
- Marcus & Martinus – Air
- Melanie Wehbe – For the Show
- Ida-Lova – Låt Hela Stan Se På
- Paul Rey – Royals
- Nordman – Släpp Alla Sorger
- Laurell – Sober
- Casanovas – Så Kommer Känslorna Tillbaka
Deltavling 4 in Malmö
- Signe and Hjördis – Edelweiss
- Axel Schylström – Gorgeous
- Emil Henrohn – Mera Mera Mera
- Marriete – One Day
- Smash Into Pieces – Six Feet Under
- Loreen – Tattoo
- Klana – Where Did You Go
Two incredibly strong heats with many debutants and returning acts. To seasoned Melodifestivalen fans there will be some stand-out names.
Loreen is now making her fourth return to Melodifestivalen after being knocked out in the Andra Chansen of 2017. She also competed in 2011 and 2012. Not only winning Melodifestivalen 2012 but also Eurovision 2012 in Baku, Sweden’s 5th win.
Paul Rey competed in both 2020 and 2021’s Melfest. He progressed to the final through the Andra Chansen each time. Mariette is a season Melodifestivalen competitor, having competed in the 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2020 contests.
We are seeing debuts from many artists in these heats with ‘Move’ songwriter Melanie Wehbe, TikTok star Emil Henrohn and Smash into Pieces all making their debut.
With the lineup now complete, it is looking to be a very exciting Melodifestivalen season. The first contest gets underway in Gothenburg on the 4th of February.
