Every year our “Expert” Panel comes together to judge all entries for the Eurovision Song Contest and they’re back to take apart the 2013 entries and rank them accordingly. While their characters and comments may be wacky, the scores are dead serious. All 13 panelists will comment on the song and rank them accordingly giving it points using a scale from five to zero. At the end you’ll also get to cast your vote in the poll. If you would learn more about the panelists and to discuss the show, join us on our Forum HERE
Let’s have a look at the current scoreboard:
It is Estonia’s turn, Birgit Õigemeel won Eesti Laul with her song “Et Uus Saaks Alguse”. The question is, did she also win over the panel?

Palliative, tempting and it feels like it flows into your veins with such an ease. My recent scientific experiments have been quite a success, thanks to this melody. Birgit performs this incredibly well, I gotta hand it to her. As the song finishes, I certainly feel sense of accomplishment and a push to do more. I suppose I can be tougher on the Romanian song. 5 points will be…. awarded to Estonia… for a delightful performance.
This confuses me, I thought Europe was in a different time zone than Texas, not in a different decade zone. It’s more 90s than Madonna’s career but it takes me back to my childhood and I like this little melody, certainly not the most remarkable song but it deserves a spot in the Finals.
Another great ballad of this year. Sounds very sweat in presentation of Birgit. Reminds me the lullabies of my mother, which she sang me in my childhood. The most powerful element of the song is Estonian language, which sounds very magical and attractive. Second year in a row Estonia is sending an amazing ballads to ESC, and I hope that this one will make a success
These guys used to be under Swedish rule for almost 200 years, and I see this paid off well. They’re sending a beautiful ballad this year. I like the singer’s voice, it’s very sweet, and the song itself is beautiful!
Very sweet little song. Yet another ballad. I am sick of the ballad BUTaaaa.. I find a dis one of the more enjoyable ones. It is very pleasant and uplifting. I usually like a my ballads to be dark, melancholy. I have a load of the emotions inside of me. I love indulge in my despair BUTaaaa.. I feel good listening to this number. Maybe I feel new me coming. Maybe I set fire to my copy of “The Marble Index”?
Such a beautiful song, it made me dream couple of times in a great way!
WAU, This is the 90’s coming back to life, but improved. Birgit is what we call a whole package in the industry. She has the amazing looks, the amazing voice, but not everything is perfect. She is paired to a boring song. It is one of the weaker ballads this year. When you listen, you fall flat to your face, nothing moves, nothing changes. Average.
Eau: O dear, this is another Eurovision ballad. I haven’t really recovered yet from some other Eurovision ballads this year.
Liz: At least this one doesn’t sound so meaningless and helplessly floating like some other ballads we’ve heard . Have you already recovered from, you know, that ballad we listened to a few weeks ago?
Eau: Oh no, dear, I don’t want to think about it. I could… (to be continued)
A pretty nice song in my opinion. But it doesn’t really have the effect as an onion. Makes me a bit left emotionless. Hope that she in may will have a nice dress. Cause that could be needed if she wants to qualify. Or maybe change the song or the performance modify.
After last year’s amazing song, Estonia relies on the same idea, but now, on the microphone there is a girl. Yeah…It did not say anything, maybe to go to bed.
My radar is on and she lights up straight away – oh sorry, was she singing? Perving aside, this song is a little sleepy in the fact thatit doesn’t really go anywhere. It’s mostly forgettable so probably won’t have achance of qualifying. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz wake me up when the performance is overplease! Not even her beauty can keep me awake!
I find it hard to get excited about this song. Partially because I can’t move from eating a bad lasagne (I mixed up butter and cheese, owch my arteries), but mainly because this song is boring. The song means So there could be a new beginning. Not qualifying isn’t something new for Estonia Birgit, try again.
I can’t remember it. I’m listening to it while I type, and I still can’t remember how it goes. It’s like the Men In Black neuralyzer for erasing memory. It’s sung well, and there is nothing specifically wrong with it. It’s an uplifting ballad, but I hear this kind of thing all the time and it does not excite me. Estonia had several songs they could have chosen to make an impact, this was a bad choice. For me, It is skull crushingly boring and it takes real effort to make it all the way through the song. Awful.
CURRENT SCORE: 37

This kind of song we see every year since 1957.
