Another Saturday, another Melodifestivalen heat! Sweden had its fifth live show today, where six more acts fought for a ticket to the Melodifestivalen final on 8 March.
However, this week also features the conclusion of the second chance round, where the third placers compete for the final two spots in the Melodifestivalen final.
The fifth liveshow, which was held in Jönköping and was hosted by Keyyo and Edvin Törnblom, featured the following line-up:
- Arvingarna – “Ring baby ring”
- Arwin – “This dream of mine”
- Saga Ludvigsson – “Hate you so much”
- Victoria Silvstedi – “Love it!”
- Vilhelm Buchaus – “I’m youts”
- Scarlet – Sweet ‘n’ Psycho”
The top 2 qualify directly for the final of Melodifestivalen (Direkt Til Finalen), while the third place in the televote advances to a répechage round, to be held after the fifth delfinalen. The last two finalists are the third placer with the highest amount of votes across all heats, and the winner of a final total vote to be held during the fifth heat.
After the initial vote, it was announced that Saga Ludvigsson won the televote, and qualified directly for the final. The lines re-opened after she stopped hyperventilating, allowing the audience to vote for their second favourite. This second vote was won by Scarlet.
Simultaneously, it was announced that Arwin e would go to the répechage rounds as the third placer in the heat.
The long await second chance vote also took place tonight.
The first Second Chance qualifier was determined by points via the app votes – whoever received the highest number of points across all app votes in their heat was immediately advanced. Dolly Style won this vote.
The other four Second Chance nominees (Meira Omar, Khaliffa, Ella Tiritiello & Arwin) then participated in a revote between the four of them to determine the second Second Chance finalist. This final vote was won by Meira Omar.
Which leaves us with the following qualifiers for next week:
Heat 1: John Lundvik & Maja Ivarsson
Heat 2: Erik Segerstedt & Klara Hammarström
Heat 3: Greczula & Annika Wikihalder
Heat 4: Måns Zelmerlöw & Kaj
Heat 5: Saga Ludvigsson & Scarlet
Second Chance: Dolly Style & Meira Omar
