After an internal selection, Spain has chosen its representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023. And it’s 11-year-old Sandra Valero who will fly the Spanish flag in Nice in November.
Another day, another contestant revealed for this year’s Junior Eurovision. Spain has selected by unanimity Sandra Valero to represent the country in Nice, out of 114 applicants during the auditions held by RTVE, the national broadcaster.
Sandra comes from Valencia and started singing at only 4 years old and seven years later, she is also a model and an actress. A triple threat and a very versatile artist who will surely deliver a fantastic performance in Nice on November 26.
The music video will be recorded in September
Now, the next big step for Spain is to choose the song that Sandra Valero will sing on the stage of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
RTVE reveals that the music video will be recorded in September and the song will then be revealed afterwards, the deadline being the 16th of October.
For her audition, Sandra Valero sang The Little Mermaid’s Part of Your World who left the juries speechless and brilliantly showcased her vocal and acting talents.
More applicants this year
The national broadcaster also points out that it received a total of 114 applications for its JESC auditions, which is 19 more than last year. 14 of them made it to the second and final round of the auditions, which Sandra Valero ultimately won.
The jury, composed of Ana MarÃa Bordas, César Vallejo, Miriam GarcÃa Corrales, Pablo Cebrián, Tony Sanchez-Ohlsson, Rayden and MarÃa Eizaguirre, chose her unanimously.
