Earlier today the Spanish broadcaster TVE announced that Edurne will represent Spain in this years Eurovision Song Contest. The singer has been chosen internally by Spanish TV and she will perform the song “Amanecer” which translates to “Dawn”, a high quality pop song according to herself. The song will be presented in the forthcoming weeks.
Edurne started out her carrier in 2005 where she was one of the finalists in the popular talent show Operación. Since then she has released five albums, played Sandy in the Spanish version of the musical Grease, been a TV presenter for the comedy show Todo va bien and was a part of Tu Cara Me Suena (Your Face Sounds Familiar) a TV show where celebrities impersonate singers for charity (which she also won with 60 % of the televotes).

Last year Spain was represented by the singer Ruth Lorenzo who sang “Dancing in the rain” that ended up on an honouring 10th place in the final. Will Edurne manage to go even higher? Discuss it here on our forum.
