For several months Slovenia’s participation at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest was in question due to funding. They were given an extension and in the end decided to take part. On top of that, the Slovenian Broadcaster RTVSLO decided to put together a National Final so needless to say that the fans were happy to see EMA return, the Slovenian selection format.

Seven acts were competing and the Top Two songs determined by a public televote moved on to the Super Final. The two lucky acts were Tinkara and Muff.

The televoters were given once again a 100% say on who would move on to represent Slovenia at Eurovision in May and it was decided that Tinkara Kovac with the song (“Spet (Round and Round) would be the most suitable option.
