The Slovenian broadcaster RTVSLO announced that the Slovenian representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 will be chosen through the popular National Selection EMA.
This is how it’s going to work: In a dual approach, songs can be entered in an open selection. The deadline to do so is December 21st 2014, At the same time, entries will be commissioned from well-known authors. In the end, up to 12 acts will fight for the ticket to Vienna in a live TV show. You can read the detailed rules HERE.
A jury will pick up to six entries from the open submission section as well as an additional six from well known authors bringing up the total to possibly 12. The wording indicates that it is possible that less acts may be chosen.
The National Final will have two rounds of voting: A jury will pick two songs to advance to the Super Final and at that point the power shifts to the televoters who can then vote on who they want to see represent Slovenia in Vienna next year.
More info will be released in due time but this will new piece definitely solidifies Slovenia’s participation next year which was still questioned by some.
