The tiny landlocked microstate of San Marino – arguably one of the more endearing stories of the Eurovision Song Contest – will announce their selected artist for Eurovision 2015 in the coming weeks. A name is expected from SMRTV between the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this Saturday and the end of November.
Whoever is chosen will have big shoes to fill – San Marino has for three years been represented by Valentina Monetta, a Sanmarinese singer who has gained the affection of many fans on our forum and across the internet. San Marino qualified for the final for the first time in 2014, with Monetta’s “Maybe (Forse)” finishing 24th.
There have been various rumours surrounding the country as usual, including a joint venture with Luxembourg and that the country’s first JESC entrant Michele Perniola would make the step up to the main contest.
Who do you want to see San Marino send to Vienna? Will you miss Valentina? Let us know your thoughts below or join the discussion on our forum!
