As previously announced the Russian TV channel internally selected Sergey Lazarev to represent Russia in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. Today it has been announced that the song will be revealed on the 3rd of March.
No hints ad to what the song will be like have been announced, although we do know that the song has been created by Dimitris Kontopoulos and Philipp Kirkorov. Kirkorov is no stranger to Eurovision, he represented Russia in 1995’s Eurovision and co-wrote the Belrorussian entry in 2007 and Ukrainian entry in 2008. Kontopoulos also co-wrote Belarus 2007 and Ukraine 2008, but also Greece 2009, Azerbaijan 2013 and Russia 2014.
Even without a song, Russia are the favourites to take home the trophy for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, will the song meet these expectations? We will find out on the 3rd of March!
