Every week all songs selected either via NF or internal selection are up for a vote and our members give points to their favorite songs. At the end of the week the host will tally up the points and post the results. This is Week 6 and includes the Maltese & Icelandic song selected this past weekend.

Denmark is not moving from the top spot and once again wins this round with a healthy lead over Switzerland. Malta entered the charts and finishes with a respectable 3rd place while Iceland managed to get sixth place. The biggest loser this week is Belarus who dropped three spots but considering they’re most likely going to change their entry anyway we shouldn’t care too much.

The scores are now being reset and you can once again vote for your favorite songs Eurovision style and this time Norway and Finland will join the fun.

I believe Belgium is being re-recorded in Finland. It is out already so people could judge if the new version if better or worst?

I think if the reaction was so positive that everybody raved over the Belarus song, they would not have changed. Now they think they can do better and try another song. It is also more publicity, unfortunately they also do not understand there are also negative connections to it. Sometimes a song has to be changed fore a reason, like FACEBOOK song. I must say all the time belarus has changed a song, it has been better for me, the second song was better than the original, so lets hope it is so also this time around

It’s not that bad they’re only doing that this year….and in 2012…..and in 2011…..and in 2010……..
Seriously though, Belarus is notorious for their “National Final” concept and the “idea” is to pick the artist AND the song however it appears that the artist have the ability to change the song if they wish to do so. It is very difficult getting to the bottom of this without getting political.

Will someone explain to me the need for Belarus to have a National Final if they’re just gonna go ahead and write a whole new song? Isn’t it unfair to the other competitors who may have done better had the new song competed and done worse? Or was the national selection strictly for the purpose of finding the artist and not necessarily the song? I’d love to hear what others think because I’m sure a lot of this is due to my naivety on how National Selections work. 😀
