RTP has released Portugal’s entry for Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Yerevan, Armenia. The song is “Anos 70” (The Seventies) and it is a mid-tempo song that fuses soft rock with a more traditional rock chorus.

Nicolas, who is of Brazilian descent, comes from the Lisbon Metropolitan area and placed second in the Portuguese version of the Voice Kids. During the competition show, Alves sang a rendition of Eurovision 2021 winners Måneskin and their hit song, Beggin’.
Simão Oliveira represented Portugal in 2021 with “O Rapaz” finishing in 11th place.
