The OGAE Video Contest is a video event which, much like the OGAE Song Contest, is organised between branches of OGAE, the international fan club of the Eurovision Song Contest.
All OGAE national clubs can enter with an original song and video released in the previous 12 months in their countries. There is no obligation on the entry for the OGAE Video Contest to be sung in one of the country’s official languages.
OGAE Rest of the World has chosen the most watched song of all time on Youtube. The South Korean singer PSY conquered the hearts of fans from all across the globe with the song “Gangnam style”. It’s only appropriate to send this star, how often does someone from South Korea gets that kind of exposure.

I don’t think there are many clubs entering the video contest/ Last time I think there were just 12 entries, you can’t vote for yourself and so you have to vote for 10 out of 11, so then the chances are small to get zero points. The video has to be awful for that – a universal hate. I have not seen the list of entries but I think again there are just over 10 or so entries despite ITALY’s wonderful offer that clubs got discount if they enter both song contest and video contest.

You could send a song that everyone knows and love but many may well have got tired of it, or send a song that no one knows and therefore not given time to get used to it, so as people don’t know it, they would tend to vote for what they do know. So you can’t win. Love it or hate it, this may be our best chance. A good video does help too.

There were several videos in the running, from China, India, Pakistan among others but the majority of rest of the world members picked the SOUTH KOREAN video, so that is what we will enter
