They might not have participated in the Eurovision Song Contest the past 2 editions, but their focus still remain strong on the junior edition, since MRT (broadcaster of North Macedonia) yesterday announced that they have found who will represent the country in this year’s edition, which is set to be held in Madrid, Spain.

About Ana & Aleksej

MRT hosted auditions in order to select their entry for this year’s competition, and the choice fell on both Ana Vančevska and Aleksej Ivanovski, who together will now represent the country.

Ana was born on May 3rd 2010, while Aleksej was born on December 7th 2011, with both of them originating from the city of Bitola, which is the 3rd largest in all of North Macedonia. Both of these young artists were selected, thanks to their powerful and impressive vocals, with both having not only impressed, but also participated and even won in various different singing competition. Both young singers were also described as very prominent upcoming and future artists.

Ana was also the only singer this year, to be present at the Junior Sanremo festival from North Macedonia. Other than being a prominent singer, she also have an interest for subjects such as Math, Physics and French.
Meanwhile, Aleksej do have the same interest in subjects such as Math and French, but also in English. Other than that, he also have a special interest in Animal care, as well as in swimming, going outside and getting friends.

It’s very clear that North Macedonia is aiming towards something special, with these two interesting young artists. Unfortunately, it’ll be a while before we’ll get to hear the song. The two artists were only selected based on their auditions, so in the coming weeks, work will be done in order to create a song for them.

There is currently no information on who will be the involved songwriters, nor when the song is expected to be revealed. However, there is still a bit less than 5 months until the competition takes place, so the broadcaster and the duo have more than enough time, to come up with some spectacular for when the competition takes place in Madrid on November 16th.

North Macedonia was lastly represented by Tamara Grujeska in the 2023 edition, where she sang her song “Kaži Mi, Kaži Mi Koj“. The song gathered a combined score of 76 points from both the juries and the online vote, finishing in 12th place.
