This doesn’t come as a surprise but TMC announced today that Monaco will not return to Eurovision, at least not in 2015.

Monaco last participation was in 2006 when Severine Ferrrer failed to qualify for the Finals with her “Coco Dance”. With a population of around 36, 000 it is one of the smallest countries in Europe and the Monegasque broadcaster  withdrew in 2006 from the contest, saying that regional voting patterns in the contest have effectively given Monaco no chance of qualifying for the final and at this point it appears they are sticking to that.

There were a few voices hoping the qualification of San Marino and Montenegro in 2014 would raise the interested for small nations like Monaco but apparently that doesn’t appear to be case.
