There’s not long now until this national final takes place, and over the past few days, quite a lot of details have been revealed by TRM (Moldova’s national broadcaster), regarding guest acts, change in the voting system and the broadcast of the show.

Finala Naţională 2023

VOTING – As a big game changer this year, the broadcaster has announced, that viewers can this year vote online for free. This is done, in order to change and focus on a more digital way of production for the future, this also means that votes will be shown on screen in real time as well, and system that has been used in Romania in past years as well.

Voting online and free will work by following 3 simple steps:

  1. By scanning the QR code that will be shown on screen OR going to the official voting site. Anyone with a phone number from Moldova can vote, wherever they are.
  2. A confirmation code will then be sent via SMS
  3. Vote for your favorite of the 10 possible songs

Voters can only vote once and the voting window will remain open for 35 minutes in total. This means, as in only once, and not as in once per artist, so all votes count. The winner will be decided by both juries and the televote, with each having a decision of 50%.

GUESTSTRM has also announced that there will also be guest performances from three other countries during the show, these are Sudden Lights(Latvia), Theodor Andrei(Romania) and Blanka(Poland). All 3 acts will perform their songs for this year’s contest in Liverpool.

BROADCAST – Finally, we’ve gotten to the last part. The national final of Moldova will also be broadcasted to another 10 European countries, at a later point. This is done in order to promote Moldova and it’s position in the Eurovision Song Contest, with focus on interviews, reporting and documentaries, which will be all done by two European broadcasters. The 10 countries in question that will broadcast the national final at a later point are: Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Israel, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain and this year’s host country, The United Kingdom.
