Moldova’s national broadcaster TRM has announced the 50 songs that have passed the expert check round of the national selection. Live auditions of these 50 entries will take place on 17th January 2015 and the artists that have qualified represent a truly inter-continental selection.
The national final’s next round includes some rejected entries from the Swiss national final, including Kitty Brucknell who achieved minor fame from her stint on the UK’s X Factor. Also notable are Sunstroke Project who have two songs remaining in the competition and who represented Moldova in 2010, eventually becoming internet sensations due to “Epic Sax Guy” Sergey Stepanov.

Moldova were represented in 2014 by Cristina Scarlat, whose entry “Wild Soul” failed to reach the Eurovision final in Copenhagen. The Eastern European nation’s best result so far is from their debut entry in 2005, with Zdob si Zdub’s fifth place. Can the country go better in Vienna?
