With Sanna Nielsen bringing home a bronze medal for Sweden in Copenhagen, it is now time to start searching for the next star. Between the 1-16th of September you can start submitting songs. You can either submit as a public entry (with no previous published works) or ordinary (with previously published works). Addition to that the winner from “Svensktoppen Nästa” will get to compete in Melodifestivalen 2015.
“Svensktoppen Nästa” is a competition for the public by the SR (Swedish radio) that currently is on their semifinals in different cities around Sweden. If you want to be updated and listen to who and what songs that possibly might enter Melodifestivalen next year you can check that out here: Svensktoppen Nästa
Last year there was a new rule added to the songwriting process, at least 20% had to have at least one female writer but this year SVT decided to raise the quota to 50%.
The songs will be picked out by a jury and SVT, Christer Björkman adds: We are so proud and happy about the bronze in Copenhagen. We will bring that feeling with us in our work for Eurovision Song Contest 2015. As usual, we call for songs in different languages, in different genres and in different styles. Diversity and variety is an important part of Melodifestivalen.
Is there someone you would like to see return to Melodifestivalen 2015 or are you ready for something new? Tell us what you think!
