There is great excitement, everything is organized in detail, it is really fun. I would do it without thinking.

These are the words of Italy’s 2013 representative Marco Mengoni, who, in an interview with the Spanish publication VIM Magazine suggested that he would do Eurovision once more without a moment’s thought.

It’s a world that leaves you in awe, because you find yourself participating in a European festival in which representatives of all the nations of the Continent bring their music together. The organisation is perfect, amazing.

It seems that Eurovision has had a positive effect after all on the enigmatic Mengoni, who continues to find success in the Italian charts following the contest with “Pronto a correre” and “Non passerai”. Perhaps the next Italian representative could emulate this success?

Mengoni represented Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 with his #1 hit “L’essenziale”, finishing in 7th place in only Italy’s third participation since their return in 2011. Mengoni was the first artist selected since the return to also have won the prestigious San Remo festival, better known as the precursor to Eurovision.
