Today was the day when the Maltese singers and songwriters submitted their entries for the Maltese national final for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.
The submission period lasted a whole 5 hours.. Yes five whole hours. Which may seem strange compared to other countries who have weeks to send the songs in. The Maltese song submission only lasts one day every yeah and the songs need to be submitted in person. So if your favourite Maltese singer had prior commitments today or for whatever reason, couldn’t turn up between 9am and 12pm or between 2pm and 4pm then I’m sorry but they will have to wait for the 2018 contest.
Every year we tend to see similar names in MESC, Christabelle, Franklin, Danica etc. So it is highly likely that they will have turned up at the Creativity Hub today to send songs in. But, maybe we will see some old faces return like Chiara, Claudia Faniello, or the one and only Jo Zette.
The amount of songs submitted is expected in the coming days, followed by the list of participants. The final 16 list is expected to be announced on Xarabank as in precious years.
Who do you want to see follow in the footsteps of Ira Losco?
