Following yesterday’s MJESC final, Malta has selected long-time participant and songwriter Yulan Law to represent them at the 2023 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Yulan Law has attempted to represent Malta in Junior Eurovision four times, and is also known for her time as a finalist on Malta’s Got Talent in 2020 and The Voice Kids just last year. Interestingly enough, she beat out fellow MJESC finalist and The Voice Kids winner Dawn Desira.

The winner of MJESC was determined by both a jury and public, with the jury determining 80% of the final result. The members of the jury were comprised of MESC 2023 contestants MATT BLXCK and Ryan Hili, and Eurovision 2017 contestant Claudia Faniello.

Next month PBS will begin the process of selecting Yulan’s song for Nice, using an open submission process for all interested composers and songwriters. The winning song will be announced by PBS on September 15th.
