Ira Losco will return to Eurovision after 14 years

The 2002 Maltese representative, Ira Losco, has won the Maltese National Final for teh 2016 Eurovision Song Contest and will return to the Eurovision stage 14 years after narrowly missing out on a victory in Tallinn in 2002.

Last night 20 acts took to the stage in the semi-final where 14 of them won tickets to tonight’s final. After a mix of televotes and jury votes, Ira Losco has been declared the winner of Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The 2016 MESC has been one fo the best Maltese national finals in history with a large amount of songs worthy of representing Malta in Eurovision.

Ira will perform her song “Chameleon (Invincible)” in Stockholm, hoping to go one place better than she did in 2002 when she narrowly missed out on taking the trophy home due to Marie N’s “I Wanna” gaining more votes on the night.
