Tonight, during the second night of the Festival di Sanremo, the much-anticipated host announcement for Eurovision 2022 took place. During a beautiful cover of ABBA’s I Have A Dream, the hosts of Eurovision 2022 were revealed to be none other than Laura Pausini, Alessandro Cattelan and Mika.
Laura Pausini is an Italian singer who became famous when she won Sanremo Giovani in 1993 with ‘La Solitudine’ and has since risen to international fame, winning a Grammy and Golden Globe and even being nominated for an Academy Award. Alessandro Cattelan has hosted ten editions of the X Factor Italy and recently joined Rai as part of a new generation of presenters. Being one of Rai’s best English speakers, he has been rumoured to host Eurovision for months. Mika is a Lebanese-British singer, best known for his hits Grace Kelly, Lollipop and Relax, Take It Easy.
Following Italy’s win in 2021 with Zitti e Buoni by Måneskin, the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 will take place in Turin on the 10th, 12th and 14th of May. The theme for this year’s contest is the sound of beauty.
