No return from Portugal after all!
No return from Portugal after all!

Despite our previous reports that Portugal would return to Junior Eurovision in 2014, yesterday it was in fact announced that RTP will not take part after all, and therefore will not be returning to the contest this year. Portugal has therefore only accepted the invitation to take part in Junior Eurovision twice, with their last entry coming in 2007.

The total number of countries in Marsa now stands at 14, but this number is still up from last year and includes debuts from Italy, Montenegro and Slovenia, and returns to the contest from Bulgaria, Cyprus and Serbia. Macedonia has also announced their intention to withdraw from the contest.
