Following their quasi-confirmation for the main contest, Portugal has announced their return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year!
Hugo Andrade, the programme director of the Portuguese broadcaster RTP, confirmed the participation in JESC to the fan site ESC Portugal. The selection method, however, hasn’t been revealed. Portugal has taken part in Junior Eurovision two times (2006 and 2007).
Portugal is the 14th country to confirm its participation at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014. The Iberian country therefore joins Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Georgia, Italy, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Russia, Serbia, Sweden, Ukraine and the host country Malta. The contest will take place on 15 November in a former shipyard building in Marsa.
