After weeks of positivity regarding Hungary participating in the 2014 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, today MTVA, the Hungarian National Broadcaster have confirmed to ESCUnited.com that they will not be sending an entry to the 2014 edition of the contest.

Many rumours have been heard with regards to the JESC Executive having high hopes for Hungary participating in Malta in November, and the EBU were working closely with MTVA in order to achieve this. Today the national broadcaster announced exclusively to to ESCUnited.com that they will not be present in Marsa, although future participations have not been ruled out.

At present there are ten countries confirmed to participate in the sunny Island in November:

Malta (Host)
Armenia
Belarus
Cyprus
Georgia
Italy
Netherland
Russia
Sweden
Ukraine

National broadcasters have until the end of summer to confirm their participation.

The 2014 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Marsa, Malta, on the 15th of November.
