This December, 12 young Italian artists will compete in Sanremo Giovani for the opportunity to showcase their music at the Sanremo Music Festival. Eight of those 12 finalists will be chosen through a round of live auditions, and the Italian broadcaster RAI has now announced which 43 artists have reached this stage.
Of the 714 submissions received, these 35 single acts and 8 groups are slated to perform on November 4 in Rome:

Sanremo Giovani and Area Sanremo
Sanremo Giovani has been held in Sanremo since 1993, in varying formats, as a pre-selection for “newcomers” to reach the Big Artists section of Festival di Sanremo, which will take place in early 2023. While eight finalists will be chosen from the 43 acts named today, and another four finalists will be chosen in a separate selection called Area Sanremo. All twelve will then compete together in Sanremo Giovani 2022.
To support talented performers who aren’t represented by a record label, registration for this audition process is open to all emerging Italian artists between 16 and 30. Registration for Arena Sanremo remains open until October 30 with the final round of Sanremo Giovani set to take place on December 16.
Last year’s winner of Sanremo Giovani Matteo Romano went on to place 11th overall in Sanremo 2022.
