The Irish-language broadcaster TG4 has revealed Ireland’s entry for Junior Eurovision 2022!
13 year-old Sophie Lennon will perform Solas (meaning ‘light’) in Yerevan. Check out the newly released music video below!
Sophie Lennon has a number of amazing achievements to her name. Her star rose in 2020 when a video of her singing O Holy Night for her grandfather went viral — from there, Sophie has been signed by a London-based talent agency, won the BBC’s School Soloist of the Year, and even has made her way to the West End!
Sophie has appeared in the West End production of ‘Children of Eden,’ and next year she will take on the lead role of a new musical, ‘Marine and the Kaleidoscope.’
Sophie was chosen as Ireland’s representative after winning the first ever public vote of TG4’s selection show Junior Eurovision Éire. Click here to see a recap of that final, and Sophie’s performances there!
Solas was written by the team of Hannah Featherstone, Ken McHugh, Niall Mooney, Jonas Gladnikoff, and Matthew Ker.
Tune in to Junior Eurovision 2022 on the 11th of December to see Solas live!
