Today the Icelandic broadcaster, RUV, have begin their song search for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. The song that they are hoping will return Iceland to the Grand Final, after missing out on the final in 2015.
The songs must be performed in Icelandic in Söngvakeppni sjónvarpsins, but the song is not restricted to Icelandic in Eurovision. When submitting the song to RUV, it must be stated in which language the song is intended to be performed in Stockholm, should the song be selected to fly the Icelandic flag in May.
