The trio Hurricane is going to represent Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. This has been confirmed by Serbian Media and brings a lot of joy and excitement to many Eurovision fans.
Olivera Kovačević, the editor-in-chief of the RTS Entertainment Program confirmed the band’s selection.
The band previously won the 2020 version of Beovizija, the Serbian National Final show winning both the jury and televote. Their single Hasta La Vista was slated to represent Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, however the contest was cancelled due the COVID-19 pandemic.
Each broadcaster was giving the ability to pick the same act or select a different one, but the songs submitted for the 2020 edition would not be eligible to enter next year’s contest.
While rumors have been swirling around for quite some time that Hurricane would be selected internally, it wasn’t until today more concrete information were given to us.
The band three members are:
Sanja Vučić
Ivana Nikolić
Ksenija Knežević
Sanja previously represented Serbia at the contest in 2016 where she managed to qualify for the Grand Final. She made the following statement:
“I’m really excited about this, but I can’t say anything more than that, because I still don’t know the details.”
The song will be chosen at a later point.
