Hungary’s national broadcaster MTVA has confirmed that A Dal is returning for 2018, and has now revealed the all-important dates for next year’s competition!

The competition, which has fast become one of the highlights of the selection calendar, will kick off on January 20th 2018 with the first of three heats of ten songs each. Following three weekends of heats, two semi-finals will take place on 10th and 17th February before Hungary decides in the grand final on 24th February!

Once again, the Hungarian broadcaster will use a combination of televoting, app voting and juries to decide the qualifiers and, ultimately, the Hungarian entry for Lisbon.

The participants in A Dal 2018 will be released in December following the close of the submission period for entries on November 15th. If #YOU want to submit an entry for A Dal 2018 you can find out how HERE.

Hungary are still looking for their first victory in the contest but have been making moves in the right direction, with Joci Papai’s “Origo” finishing 8th in Kyiv this year.
