After the EBU ans SBS announced that Australia would debut in the 60th Anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest, roumours have circulated around the internet and media as to who will fly the Australian flag in Vienna.

Moments ago in the Sydney Opera House, it was announced on SBS that the lucky act to represent Australia will be Guy Sebastian. The song is still to be decided, although Guy has stated it will be a song from his latest album.

When Australia was announced as the newest country to take part in Eurovision, it caused a mix of reactions to be voiced. Although Australia have only been invited to participate in 2015, should they win in Vienna, they will join forces with a European city to organise the 2016 contest, and Australia will once again participate in the contest.

Australia will join the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, France and Italy to for a new ‘Big 6’ for the 2015 contest, and therefore are granted a pass to the final on the 23rd of May.
