Following an intense internal selection process for Eurovision 2021, Germany’s national broadcaster NDR has decided its act for Rotterdam – Jendrik Sigwart will fly the German flag at the 2021 contest!

The 26 year old singer from Hamburg impressed an 100-strong Eurovision jury and an independent panel of experts to be chosen as the German representative for Eurovision 2021, succeeding Ben Dolic as the artist and beating over 100 competing submissions from across the nation.

Jendrik is a multi-talented singer-songwriter who studied musical theatre at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and, according to Eurovision.tv, has been “passionately writing his own songs for years”

The head of delegation for Germany, Alexandra Wolfslast, describes Jendrik as “totally authentic. He has fantastic charisma and incredible entertainment qualities. It was not surprising that he convinced the juries. We are very happy that he will be representing Germany.”

The German entry will be revealed at 17:50 CET in a special broadcast on Thursday 25th February, so we don’t have too long to wait to find out what Jendrik’s composition for Rotterdam is!
